How to find the right Personal Trainer for you.
In a world where every gym has at least 3 - 10 personal trainers it can become difficult and confusing to work out which personal trainer will be right for you. 8 things for you to consider when choosing a personal trainer.
1. Body Language
Meet the personal trainer and discuss with them what you want to achieve. Watch how they respond to you through their body language. Consider things like: eye contact, if their body is facing you front on, the position of their feet, their position on the seat forwards or backwards.
2. Practice what they preach
Look at the personal trainer and how they look. They are selling a service and the evidence of their service is their product. Their body and what they eat.
3. How they train.
Watch what they do for training. You want a personal trainer who trains on a regular basis and looks after themselves.
4. Results
Ask for evidence of results from other clients. All personal trainers should have it in a form of before and after photos or even in written recommendations.
5. Training Clients
Watch how the personal trainers train other clients. Be aware of the different types of personal trainers. When they are training their client potentially you, they need to be focused on you their client and not on themselves in the mirror or other gym goers or even texting.
6. Connection
Be aware of the connection you have with the personal trainer. This person you are hiring to help you reach your fitness goals. You need to be comfortable and be able to connect on a friendly professional level.
7. Interview
You are interviewing them throughout this process, if you have questions or queries about anything you need to ask them.
8. Time management
You want a personal trainer who is always on time. Don't accept them being late... but on the same token don't be late for them... if your late for the Dr's or just don't show you would be charged... it will be the same for personal trainers.
At the end of the day you are hiring them. Do your research and if your not happy keep looking. Would you buy any product whether it be a car or house or service without doing your homework...
Good luck and happy training.
